Success Story of Meghali Das – Championing Women’s Empowerment through Skill Development
Meghali Das, a passionate social entrepreneur from Guwahati, Assam, has dedicated her life to empowering underprivileged women through skill development and vocational training. With a clear vision to create lasting social impact, she has transformed the lives of over 1,000 women, enabling them to achieve financial independence and reclaim their dignity.
At the heart of her mission is a vocational training center that offers a diverse range of livelihood-focused courses. These include Cutting & Tailoring, Beauty & Wellness, Decorative Candle and Soap Making, Chocolate Making, and Bamboo Jewellery Making. Through these practical and creative programs, women—many of whom had little to no income—have gained the skills needed to earn a stable livelihood, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Meghali’s impact extends even further. She runs a shelter home for women who have experienced domestic violence and homelessness, providing not just safety but also a path to self-reliance. The shelter home integrates vocational training into its support system, offering these women a fresh start and renewed hope.
Her work is not just about skill-building; it is about rebuilding lives. With her unwavering dedication, Meghali has helped hundreds of women rediscover their confidence, develop a sense of purpose, and become active participants in the economy.
Today, Meghali Das is widely recognized as a symbol of strength, compassion, and change. Her efforts continue to inspire a growing movement of empowered women in Assam and beyond—proof that one person’s commitment can uplift an entire community.
